Galleries and institutions members of the association Genève Art contemporain in collaboration with the Quartier des Bains opened their doors to the general public. Color my Geneva has visited almost all the galleries and museums. We would like to share with you the most impressive exhibitions.
Vernissage of Marion Baruch in Galerie Laurence Bernard. Geometrical pieces of art made of fabrics remnants that occur when pieces of clothing are cut. The artist was born in 1924. The works are drawn structures that remind something deconstructive and geometrical.
The other exposition that was ending during WEEK-END GENEVE.ART in Galerie Mezzanin was dedicated to Etti Abergel. She lives in Jerusalem and her works are in the famous museums and were participating in Venice Biennale. When you see the sculptures and installations of the artist you feel tension. Some installations, however, are designed simply to be walked around and contemplated, or are so fragile that they can only be viewed from a doorway, or one end of a room. The focus on how the viewer experiences the work and the desire to provide an intense experience for them is a dominant theme in Etti’s art. Looking at the shoes that are pierced by tens of pins pains you.
The event gave a chance to talk to the mediators, artists and know the actuality of contemporary art in Geneva.
