Exposition NO PHOTO in Maison Tavel
The exposition is called PIONNIERS DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE en Suisse romande. It represents the photos of the first ateliers in Geneva and Lausanne and is the part of Biennale de la Photographie de Geneve
The exhibition is a multilayered collaborative work that brings together many forms of scenography: space, stage, exposition, memory, community and communication. You can find daguerreotypes – unique image on a silvered copper plate and the first photos made by the Swiss Romany photographers.
The exposition is like a dialogue between the past and the current time outside the walls of the museum. It is so curious to find the corners and buildings of Geneva that does not exist anymore or changed a lot.
The views of Alps impress a lot especially when you know that the photographer had to take the equipment of 7 kg to take pictures.
The photos belong to Michèle and Michel Auer who work for 40 years on an exceptional collection of photos
The exhibition will last up to 29 mars 2020
